The Game-Changing Shell Chair Has Been "Garapata-fied"
Chairs, however mundane they seem, are actually very important in our lives. Get the wrong one and you either have to suffer through a backache or live with an eyesore in your space. In 1950, the delicate balance between a chair's design and function was magnificently combined by designer couple Charles and Ray Eames, when they first produced a one-piece seat-and-back chair that was also comfortable, now known as the Eames Shell Chair. And to pay tribute to this pioneering movement in furniture-making, lifestyle store Mr. Chair and art gallery Vinyl on Vinyl joined forces and put together a show called The Iconic Chair Reimagined. It opens on February 2 at Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery in Makati City.
