Takashi Murakami’s Mr DOB character is the artist’s most recognizable figure among all his Superflat artworks. The large- scale version has been exhibited in various museums such as Galerie Perrotin in Paris and MoMA in New York. The figure is inspired by the iconic Walt Disney character, Mickey Mouse, and has been a popular subject in his paintings, namely his 1996 work entitled 727.
